All About Megan Rennie
My Name is Megan Rennie. I was born In Scarborough and raised by my grandparents and mom. My love for creating and designing came from my grandma. Who was a skilled sewer and artist. From a young age watching my grandma create these beautiful works of art inspired me and allowed me to unlock my own creativite. Being raised by a single mom taught me to be independent and empowered me to follow my dreams.
From a young age I noticed my style sense was different and wasn’t satisfied with the clothing that was available for my age. I found myself experimenting and reworking clothes to create a unique style for myself. Others noticed and appreciated my style and was able to turn reworking clothing into a business. In running this business I realized I lacked certain skills and that's when I decided to enroll in the st. clair fashion design program. While in this program I learnt about the malpractices within the fashion industry. This inspired me to want to be the change the fashion industry needs. Having taken a course in circular fashion reinforced my understanding of the importance of sustainability within the fashion industry. Using the skills that I have learned I am now able to create sustainable fashion using unique processes and fabrics. My designs are innovative and forward thinking. I pride myself on my uniqueness, attention to detail and am proud of the sustainability of my work.
